My FREE mousepad!

I was introduced to Shutterfly via Mom365 (a great photo service that takes pics of your newborn in the hospital) when I delivered my youngest bebita. I've got to say, this place has been amazing! I was able to get a free 8x8 hard photo book as a gift to Deysi (la mas chica de mis 2 princesas) for her birthday and now, as a gift for the New Year, I received a $20 credit to use on anything I wanted to purchase on their site! ...

Eagle Brand: Magic Cookie Bars

For Christmas, it was my turn para llevar el postre a casa de mi mami.... but what to take??? I opted for Eagle Brand's Magic Cookie Bars, with a few tweeks here and there to make it my own Christmas take on the bar :)

Click here for the original recipe.

To make it my own, I doubled the graham crackers, subed dried cranberries for the coconut, and used red, green, and brown chocolate chips.

Recipe: Jenny's Ponche Navideño

One of my favortie things to enjoy during the holidays is Ponche Navideño. LOVE the fruitiness, sweetness, and warmth it brings to the night. I had no clue how to make it so out I went searching for recipes... what did I find? Well, that the Ponche's recipe really depends on the chef... I ventured out and made my own.... RESULTS? AWESOME yummy Ponche that spoke of me and my favorite flavors :)

Ingedients I used:
guayabas - 1lb
apples - 6
cinnamon sticks - handfull
whole cloves - 6
piloncillo - 1 cone
sugar - 1

1. Cut half of your guayabas in half.
2. Place all ingredients in a stock pot (size depends on the amount of Ponche you want to make)

Christmas crafts for the kiddos

Working from 8-5, 5 days a week then coming home to do the ama de casa thing doesn't leave me much time to spend with my girls so I try to go above and beyond whenever I can to spend some time with them, all within a reasonable budget. This weekend, pulled out my $1 Betty Crocker cake mix from HEB, $.98 peppermint Pillsbury frosting and $1 cupcake papers from Walmart, and $2.47 festive sprinkle set from Ross to make Decorate-your-own cupcake crafts! I had my brother and sisters over too :) Check out the pics...

Budget Saver Tip #1

Like most of you, I'm a working mami trying hard to stay on a budget... but how?! One thing I found really useful is DYI nails and nail art! Mi esposo ya me dice que soy adicta to nail polish but the way I see it is well, por mas que gaste it doesn't come close to what I would have spent at the salon! Here are the fun multi-colored nails I did on my sis..
And here are my festive zebra nails, perfect for the holidays!...
All the polishes I used here were under $3 ! The rhinstones, $1 at my HEB for 1200 multi colored pieces! What do ya think?
